O: Can feel callus over the R clavicle and L scapula, both shoulders stable on palpation. Took repeat x-rays: distal L femur fracture noted on x-rays - looks to be healing with good alignment, no abnormalities on palpation of this leg. Shoulders healing well.

A: Bird doing well, fractures healing. New fracture found on x-rays, does not currently seem to be an issue but will need to continue to monitor and repeat x-rays.

A: Patient is alert/aware and holding wings well without wrap. Doesn't take hand feeding well. Will see if baby eats on own, but will reattempt hand feeding after a few minutes. Bruising found on R inguinal is likely due to fluids.

O: HF 37 grams of chopped rat in between calls while wearing camo. When bird completely refused to open mouth, dropped remaining 12 grams in cage.

O: Vocal in hand, very thin BCS. Drew blood from the medial metatarsal vein. Significant crepitus felt in the R shoulder, small flex felt in the L clavicle. No other abnormalities found on exam.

S: Laying sternal in transport box. Started vocalizing for catch. Vocal whenever head uncovered. Stood and walked away when placed in cage.

Wings: Crepitus palpated at both shoulders. Palpated fx to medial end of R clavicle. Not able to palpate specific fx to L shoulder but still felt crepitus there.
Legs: NSF
Feet: NSF
Body: Cast palpable in abdomen.
Feather condition: Entire chest still downy. Contour feathers starting to come in over back. Primaries ~40% grown
Ectoparasites: None seen
Radiographic findings: Fxs to R clavicle and L scapula. L shoulder sits considerably lower than R. GI very muddled: food in GI plus large cast in abdomen. Crop appeared thickened. Upon palpation, realized it is food in crop
Initial treatment: Gave 0.15cc meloxicam PO + 0.09cc tramadol PO + 23cc LRS SQ in R inquinal. Placed in cage in critical care room.

A: Fxs to both shoulders should heal quickly due to young age of patient. Will likely heal better without wraps, as wraps would inhibit normal growth of wings and feathers. Lower positioning of L shoulder is potentially concerning for long term flight capabilities, but only time will tell if will effect bird. GI muddling is at least partially due to food, but may also be due to some internal trauma. Patient is also on the thinner side, even for a baby, though parents obviously recently fed.

P: Rx 2d low-dose tramadol. Rx 5d meloxicam. Rx Calcium slurry. Rx SQ fluids. SF in AM, HF in PM if DNE. Vet check tomorrow. Collect blood and fecal tomorrow. Check IOP's tomorrow for study data. Monitor shoulders out of wraps. Take follow up rads of shoulders in 5d. Weigh SID
